"These studs are special, instead of our usual Murano glass base, these used to be a Scottish Whisky Bottle! We break up the bottle and melt the glass down bit by bit adding the hypoallergenic steel backs in the flame as usual. These have a slick of palladium leaf melted to the front of them. I’ve called them Freeform because they very much have a mind of their own; all will be panel shaped with palladium but the outline, clarify and amount of metal will vary between the studs."
The Palladium is so beautiful, it takes on shades of greens and pinks in different light, the photos really don’t do it justice!
Made in a torch flame and carefully annealed in a kiln overnight to prevent any breakages these earrings would be perfect to complement an outfit or as a little gift to someone. The backs are Surgical Steel, a completely safe and hypoallergenic metal. The steel backs are fused into the glass while it is still hot, so no glue is needed.
As they are handmade, the size of glass varies but they are roughly 6x10 mm, and it is consistent within the pairs.
